Apple tart

What could be better than the apple and cinnamon combination? Read on to learn how to cook this delicious tart - all you the equipment you need is an oven and a frying pan!





Ingredients

A packet of ready rolled puff pastry
1 large apple - or 1 apple per person you're serving
1 knob of butter
1 tbsp caster or demerera sugar
1/2 tsp of cinnamon


Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C
  2. Chop your apple up into small and even slices.
  3. Add your knob of butter to your frying pan, followed by the apples
  4. Soften your apples in the frying pan. It might help to add some water. It's crucial to add any water as slowly as possible so you don't end up with loads of liquid
  5. Add sugar to taste and your cinnamon
  6. Lay a thin layer of puff pastry across the top tucking in the sides so the apple is completely covered
  7. Cook your tart in the oven until the top is nice and golden brown. This should take about 12-14 minutes.
